Independence: Army decorates personnel with medals in Damaturu

The Nigerian Army Headquarters Sector 2 Joint task force North-East Operations Hadin Kai has decorated officers and soldiers in the front line who sacrifice their lives and freedom for their father land in Yobe.

The medal presentation parade took place in Damaturu, Yobe state capital.

Presiding over the medal decoration, the commander headquarters of Sector 2 Joint task force North-East Operations Hadin Kai, Major General K A Isoni said, the 2022 medal presentation parade was aimed at recognising, honouring and documenting the services and efforts of all the deserved personnel in the state.

Isoni noted that it also served as morale booster to the officers and soldiers of sector 2 Operations Hadin Kai to accomplishing assigned missions to their father land and contributes towards their attainment of the Chief of Army Staff’s vision which is to have a professional Nigerian Army ready to accomplish assigned missions within a joint environments to the defence of Nigerians.

He urged the troops to maintain their best in the discharge of their assigned duties and responsibilities.

Decorating the officers and soldiers, Governor Mai Mala Buni commended them for their patriotism and being the backbone in executing the war against insurgency in the state.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Security Matter, Brigadier General Dahiru  Abdulsalam (retd) noted that the performances of the Nigerian Army have brought along with them more experience in peace keeping operations to the personnel and national pride to the Nigerian citizens.

“The presence of the Nigerian Army personnel within the state has tremendously contributed to the stabilisation of peace in the polity and revival of socio- economic activities within the state in particular and the north east region at large”, he said.
