A Kano-based industrialist, Alhaji Shittu Sani Marshal, has described the school feeding programme embraced by Kano and Jigawa state governments as “a major catalyst” in providing gainful employment to youths.
Speaking to newsmen in Kano yesterday, Marshal said the introduction of the programme would further encourage parents to send their wards to school in search of knowledge adding that the nutritional nature of the food would make the school children robust, healthy and active at all times.

He said Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his Jigawa state counterpart, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar, had proven themselves as leading pace-setters in embracing the programme as conceived by the federal government, stressing that the scheme would provide job opportunities to youths in need of employment.

Marshal, who is a Director in the Kaura Biscuits and Macaroni production Company, said the school feeding programme had positively impacted on the lives of the people in the southern part of the country having provided them the opportunity to boost their economies.
According to him, with the scheme taking a proper shape the future would be rosy for the two states.
He said the introduction of the laudable scheme would empower women to secure job most especially now that the two states had placed high premium on youths and women empowerment, stressing that with teeming youths gainfully employed, the rate of high-profile crimes would be reduced.
