INEC conducts mock accreditation in Jos

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has conducted Mock Accreditation exercise in some polling units in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state.

Blueprint reports that some prospective voters turned-out to verify their Permanent Voter Card (PVC), at some polling units visited at Federal Government College Jos, and Abba Na Shehu registration area.

At the School lane 1, polling unit of Abba Na Shehu Ward, registration area, women mostly dominated the accreditation.

“We have so far accredited 50 people, and we are hoping to get more before closing time,” the INEC official said.

A prospective voter, Ahmed Muhammed, said his PVC was, “duly verified and successfully accredited.”

However, it was observed that the BVAs did not verified some prospective voter, as it failed to capture the PVCs, their thumb prints, and facial expressions.

“I am surprised that the BVAS has failed to captured me, because even at the time of last bye-election for Bassa/Jos North in February, 2022, I was duly accredited and I voted because the BVAS has captured my face, but now it didn’t,” a prospective voter said.
