APC’s Sule is Nasarawa governor-elect, defeats Davematics, Maku

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Engr, Abdullahi Alhaji Sule winner of the Saturday 9th governorship election in Nasarawa state.

The INEC Returning officer Professor Abdullahi Bala, Vice Chancellor Federal University of Technology Minna, declared the results on Monday morning at the INEC head office in Lafia the state capital.

According to him the APC candidate polled 327,229 votes to beat his closest PDP rival who got 184,281 votes. Others were APGA 132,784 votes ZLP 13,308 votes and ADP 1,355 votes.

“By the power confirmed on me as the returning officer, I hereby declared Engr, Abdullahi Alhaji Sule, as the winner of the governorship election in Nasarawa state, having certified the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes.”

He said out of the 161, 7786 registered voters, 686,303 people were accredited.

The returning officer added that 681,400 votes were cast out of which 670,879 were valid, while 10,521 votes were rejected.
