Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Mahmud Isa said Wednesday
that the commission has recruited close to twenty thousand ad-hock
staff to enable them hold a credible, fair and free 2019 elections in
the state.

While addressing a press conference Wednesday in Dutse the REC said
all elections materials earlier lodged in the custody of the CBN had
been retrieved as directed by the head office owing to the
postponement of elections.

Other measures include the disbursement of election materials to all
the 27 LGA’s across jigawa state, posting of at-least twenty thousand
INEC ad- hoc staff to 2,876 polling units and  despatch of all INEC
staff among other preparations to ensure smooth conduct of the
exercise.

The commission has vowed to engage the services of an effective
synergy as a common pool amongst the staff, the security personnel and
other stakeholders geared towards ensuring a hitch- free poll.

He also assured the commission’s readiness to be transparent,
committed, fair, and just among different participating political
parties during the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

He said there will be no cause for alarm, “since we are sure of
disbursing all relative election materials in all the 27 councils
across Jigawa state in a bid to ensure the success of the elections.”
