Injured Corps members: Lalong promises to offset medical bills

 Governor Simon Lalong on Tuesday said his administration will take care of the medical bills of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) involved in an accident while returning from election duties on Sunday.

According to a statement by the Commissioner of Information and Communications, Yakubu Dati, said Governor Lalong made the commitment when he visited the victims at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

The Corps members were posted to Jos East local government area to conduct the Governorship and House of Assembly elections, but had an accident while returning to Jos on Sunday morning.

Although none of the occupants of the vehicle died, many of them were said to have sustained varying degrees of injury.

The Governor who was accompanied by his Deputy, Prof Sonni Tyoden, deputy leader of the House of Representatives Hon Idris Ahmed and other top government functionaries, assured them of government support.

The Commissioner stated that Governor Lalong  also comforted other patients in the hospital especially the children who were on admission.
