Insecurity: Blueprint hails Military sacrifices



The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Blueprint Newspapers, Alhaji Salisu Umar, has urged Nigerians to appreciate the efforts and sacrifices of the Nigerian Army in tackling the various security challenges in the country.


He said although it was the constitutional duties of the military to protect the territorial integrity of the country and help in ensuring peace and security, Nigerians must show appreciation for the sacrifices of the officers and men of the military in keeping the country safe and secured.
Umar made the call in Abuja when he led a team of management of Blueprint Newspapers on a courtesy visit on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Buarati in his office.


He applauded the for the success recorded against terrorism in the North east, adding that since Buratai took over the mantle of leadership of the Nigerian Army the people of North east were able to sleep with their two eyes close.
“People like Gen. Buratai should be celebrated while they are still alive,” he said.


“He has played a very significant role in ensuring that the Boko Haram terrorists is decimated. And the people of North can once again sleep with their two eyes closed.”
Umar said Nigerians are also confident that within a short period of time the recent security challenges in the North west would also be curtailed by the army.
He said Blueprint Newspaper had ensured objective reportage of activities of the Nigerian Army and the military as a whole, as part of its contribution to national development.


He assured that the newspaper would continue to partner with the Nigerian Army in projecting its laudable achievements to the public. 
In his remark, the COAS appreciated the management and staff of Blueprint Newspapers for their good work.
He said he had since noticed the objectives reportage of the Nigerian Army activities and achievements by Blueprint Newspapers, since he assumed duty as Chief of Army Staff in 2015, as its reporters had traveled dangerous terrains with him in the North-east.


He urged the management to keep up the good work and assured that the army was ready to partner with it.
