postponed the signing of peace accord earlier scheduled to hold on
Wednesday, due to security concerns.

The INEC Resident Commissioner in the state, Ahmad Makama who disclosed this to newsmen added that the postponement became necessary after the shut down of major roads linking Damaturu the state capital by the Army.

“Most of the people we are expecting to grace this programme will come
from other local governments of the state.  Therefore we have agreed
to shift the programme to later date of Thursday next week, January,

He further said the essence of the peace accord was to bring politicians together to commit themselves in writing by signing the peace accord and to play the game according to the rule.

confirming the closure of the roads by the security agents, called on
the resident to disregard fake news flying the air  that there is going to be an attack.
