Insecurity: Shake up as IGP redeploys Kaduna, Benue CPs, 4 others

As part of efforts to re-jig the fight against armed banditry, kidnapping, and other sundry crimes across the country, particularly in Kaduna and other contiguous states, the acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the redeployment of the Commissioner of Police in charge of Kaduna state, CP Ahmed Abdulrahaman.

CP Aji Ali Janga, who until now was in charge of Bauchi state, takes over as the new helmsman in Kaduna Command, while Abdulrahaman has been redeployed to Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, in a press statement, yesterday in Abuja, said CP Habu Sani Ahmadu, who was in charge of Force Intelligence, has been redeployed to Bauchi Command.

Similarly, CP Omololu Shamsudeen Bishi, formerly of Benue Police Command was redeployed to the Central Criminal Registry (CCR), Alagbon Lagos, while CP Mukadas Mohammed Garba was moved from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) to Benue as CP.

He said the CP in charge of CCR Alagbon, Lagos, was moved to Force Headquarters, Abuja, as the CP in charge of Armament.

The spokesperson said acting the IGP has charged the newly posted and redeployed CP and other strategic commanders nationwide to take urgent steps towards initiating and implementing concrete crime prevention strategies aimed at re-dominating and reclaiming the public space under their watch from the activities of monstrous criminal elements in society.

He said the postings are with immediate effect.
