Insecurity:Call for emergency meeting OPC faction tells Southwest govs

A faction of the Oodu People’s Congress (OPC), the OPC  New Era has asked the governors in the South-west states to immediately summon a meeting of leaders of all self determination groups in the region, in order to find a solution to the problem of insecurity ravaging Yorubaland.

National Publicity Secretary of the OPC faction, Comrade Sina Akinpelu made the call in Ibadan during a chat with Journalists in Ibadan on the insecurity situation in some South West states.

The  OPC New Era Spokesperson pointed out that the time had come for the governors to unite and summon leaders of all self determination groups  to brainstorm on how to tackle the menace of killings and kidnappings by suspected Fulani herdsmen in different parts of Yorubaland without using guns.

Speaking further comrade Akinpelu maintained thatthere was need for unity among Yoruba people for the problem of insecurity in the region to be effectively tackled as all hands must be on the deck to check the menace.

The OPC New Era National Publicity Secretary lamented that   the invaders were able to penetrate and operate freely in Yorubaland because there is no unity among Yoruba political leaders, traditional rulers and self determination groups.

He however disclosed that “all the 30 self determination groups in Yorubaland are ready to work for the emancipation and protection of their land” and that the Fulani people living in the Southwest should fish out the criminal elements terrorising the region among them.
