Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Nasir el-Rufa’i, has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of promoting insurgency in the North-east to postpone the 2015 general elections.
El-Rufa’i also stated that even the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was nursing the fears that Jonathan would not be able to win the 2015 presidential election because he lacked the wherewithal to win.

He said the presidency had exacerbated the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and other affected states to declare war in the area by invoking Section 160 of the Constitution to shift the election for another six months.
Addressing journalists in Kaduna at the weekend, the Kaduna state All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate said if voted into power in Kaduna state, he would improve the internally generated revenue of the state, adding that if required he would revoke lands and demolish houses.

“The last four years have been one of the worst periods of governance in Nigeria. The Jonathan administration is exacerbating insecurity, intensifying division and corruption because they wanted to create a situation of war to invoke Section 160 of the Constitution and postpone the election for six months, as they don’t have the number of states and people to win election.
The ex-FCT minister, who urged other APC governorship aspirants in Kaduna state to support and work with him, said he would revive the state owned companies, improve schools, healthcare system, address insecurity and provide flourishing agriculture if elected.

“I want to have a Kaduna state where there is no indigene or settler. I want to have a Kaduna state where everyone living here pays his taxes and has equal rights as others. We are confident because there are areas of leakages, corruption we plan to tackle and there is large capacity to expand internally generated revenue.
“In spite of the fact that oil prices are falling and we are facing a dire economic situation more serious than anything that we have faced since 1984, we will do our best to improve the situation because we are committed to making Kaduna great again.”
