Internally Generated Revenue for states, FCT hit N1.33trn

The 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has  generated internal  revenue  of N1.33 trillion for the 2019 financial year.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recent report on Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) showed that the amount represents an increase of 20.92 per cent compared with N1.17 trillion recorded in 2018.

Also  IGR figure for the fourth quarter of 2019 hits N346.20 billion from N294.11 billion reported in third quarter, indicating a positive growth of 20.92 per cent.

An analysis of the IGR for the fourth quarter of 2019 revealed that Lagos State recorded highest,  generating a total of N398.73 billion for the period, followed by Rivers State with account of N140.40 billion.

According to the NBS IGR report , FCT came third with account of  N74.564 billion, Ogun State recorded IGR of N70.922 billion, Delta State reported N64.678 billion.  Kaduna state collected revenue of N44.956 billion, Kano State  accounted for N40.593 billion, Akwa Ibom State N32.291 billion, Enugu state N31.069 billion.

Other states include Kwara State N30.646 billion, Ondo State N30.135 billion, Edo State N29.478 billion,  Oyo State N26.746 billion, Anambra State N26.369 billion, Cross Rivers generated N22.597 billion,  Sokoto state N19.005 billion, Osun State N17.922 billion,  Plateau State N16.480 billion, Kogi State N16.389 billion, Bayelsa State N16.342 billion, IMO State N16.095 billion, Zamfara state N15.416 billion, Abia State N14.769 billion,  Gigawa state N12.926 billion, Niger state N12.765 billion, Bauchi State N11.696 billion, Nasarawa N10.858 billion. The report further showed that Adamaws state collected N9.704 billion, Ekiti state N8.546 billion, Kastina State N8.496 billion while Borno generated N8.175 billion.

Taraba state recorded the least, accounting for N6.533 billion followed by  Gombe state N6.803 billion, Kebbi state N7.367 billion and Ebonyi State N7.455 billion ,
