Intervention projects create sustainable environment in communities- Adewole

The former Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, said that the federal government’s intervention projects would continue improving and creating sustainable environment where everyone could live in harmony without fear.

Adewole said this recently at the commissioning and handing over ceremony of the Federal Government’s completed project of Erosion and Road Improvement works at Okeayo, Egbeada Local Government Area, Oyo state which was executed through the Ecological Fund Office (EFO), Office of the Secretary  the Government of the Federation (OSGF).

“The determination of the administration  to continue with the implementation of all genuine government policies, agreements and contracts that are aimed at promoting a prosperous nation on the path of unfettered development.

He expressed optimism that with the successful completion of the project at Okeayo, the economic activities of the area and its environs would be greatly enhanced and at the same time reduce the dangers to lives and properties associated with erosion and persistent flooding.

The minister who represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the event also reiterated  that no part of the country would be neglected under his administration owing to its geographical location or political considerations.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, EFO, Dr. Habiba Lawal who was represented at the event by Deputy Director, EFO, Mr. Mathias Eluma, reiterated that the commissioning/ handover exercise was meant to enable the host community take over and exercise ownership over the project, to ensure its maintenance and sustainability.

While commending the contractor, consultant and the EFO staff for their efforts in ensuring timely completion of the project, she urged the host community not to allow the resources the Federal Government committed to the projects to waste.

In her part the Senator representing Oyo Central, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu who was present at the event expressed her joy on the successful completion of the project. 

She extended her gratitude to Mr. President, President Muhammadu Buhari, Ecological Fund Office and the contractor/ Consultant of the project for making her dream of touching lives of the people she represents come true.

The representative of Okeayo community who is also the President, Landlord/ ladies Association, Mr. Fasina Isiaka expressed the community’s appreciation to the Federal Government under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for making them feel and enjoy the dividend of democracy. 

They also thanked their Senator, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu for attracting such a mighty project to their community. They equally called for the extension of the project to few other communities leading to Ibadan –Ife express road.

The project which cuts across more than four different communities, Okeayo, Abiola, Amiran Ogunbade and others is a 2km road improvement project and 2km constructed concrete drain with box Culverts.
