Investors stake N3.01bn at stock market

 

Investors yesterday traded 130.372 million shares worth N3.006 billion in 2866 deals on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange. This is against 183.647 million shares valued at N4.501 billion exchanged hands the previous day  in 3558 deals.

By the close of business,  market capitalisation of  listed equities increased by N2 billion to N13.430 trillion from N13.428 trillion reported on Tuesday.  The NSE All Share Index rose by 4.25 basis points  to 27607.02 points from 27602.77 traded the previous day.

A review of trading activities during the day showed MTN Nigeria Communications Plc led gainers table during the day, increasing by N0.90 kobo to close at N140.95 kobo, Forte Oil followed with a gain of N0.80 kobo to close at N15.40 kobo, Cement Company of Northern Nigeria added N0.50 kobo to close at N15.00, Dangote Cement Industry appreciated by N0.50 kobo to close at N165.50 kobo

Ecobank Transnational Incorporated increased by N0.25 kobo to close at N7.20 kobo

On the contrary, Zenith Bank Plc recorded the highest loss during the day shedding N0.50 kobo to close at N18.50 kobo, PZ Cusson trailed with a loss of N0.35 kobo to close at N5.90 kobo, Access Bank fell by N0.35 kobo to close at N6.45 kobo, FBNHoldings depreciated by N0.15 kobo to close at N4.80 kobo , Guaranty Trust Bank dropped by N0.15 kobo to close at N27.00

The investment at the NSE also revealed that Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp) was the most active stock during the day, exchanging 39.088 million shares valued at N41.739 million, MTN Nigeria followed with account of 15.265 million shares valued at N2.140 billion, Lafarge Wapco sold 10.439 million shares cost N147.726 million, Zenith Bank sold a total of 7.567 million shares valued at N140.059 million, FBNHoldings traded 6.731 million shares cost N32.768 million
