Investors stake N3.268bn in shares as listed equities declines 0.21%

Investors Wednesday traded 394.062 million shares valued at N3.268 billion in 3377 deals. This is against 253.389 million shares worth N4.117 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 3836 deals.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange trading activities showed that market capitalisation of listed equities declined further by N27 billion or 0.21 per cent to N13.047 trillion from N13.074 trillion reported the previous day.

 The NSE All Share Index also dropped by 59.68 basis points to 29608.00 from 29668.68 traded on Tuesday. 

A breakdown of the investment showed that Seplat Petroleum Development led gainers table increasing by N5.00 to close at N500.00, Nigerian Breweries followed with a gain of N4.00 to close at N62.00, Forte Oil gained N1.40 kobo to close at N30.40 kobo, Berger Paint added N0.40 kobo to close at N7.50 kobo while Wapco appreciated by N0.30 kobo to close at N11.85 kobo.

On the contrary, Nestle Nigeria Plc recorded the highest loss during the week, shedding N49.20 kobo to close at N1350.00, Betaglass trailed with a loss of N7.35 kobo to close at N66.35 kobo, Cement Company of Northern Nigeria fell by N1.30 kobo to close at N12.00, Cadbury Nigeria Plc down by N0.70 kobo to close at N10.25 kobo, MTN Nigeria declined by N0.50 kobo to close at N128.50 kobo

The result further showed that Wema Bank Plc was the most active stock during the day exchanging 194.666 million shares valued at N128.476 million, Guaranty Trust Bank followed with account of 20.394 million shares worth N625.618 million, Unilever Nigeria Plc traded 20.095 million shares cost N643.069 million, FBNHolding traded a total of 17.364 million shares cost N118.860 million while Flour Mills Nigeria Plc exchanged a total of 14.626 million shares worth 204.592 million
