Ishaku urges Tarabans to reconcile with one another

Taraba state governor Arch Darius Ishaku on Sunday urged the people of the state to use the opportunity of this year’s Eid el-Kabir to reconcile with friends, neighbours and to re-dedicate ourselves to the pursuit of peace “which is the most critical need of the state.”

Ishaku, who made the call in Jalingo in a live broadcast to mark this year’s Sallah celebrations, said the people of the state must resolve to support the efforts of government to ensure lasting peace in the state.

According to him, “no sacrifice is too much for this to be achieved.”

“My good people of Taraba state, let me also seize the opportunity of this Sallah celebrations to restate my commitment to work with the adherents of all religions in the state to achieve peace. There can be no development without peace; my administration will continue to provide the enabling atmosphere for the adherents of all religions to practise the faith of their choice freely as enshrined and guaranteed by the constitution,” he said.

He said his administration had consistently synergised and engaged with the leaderships of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Muslim Council to ensure that peace reigned among the inhabitants of the state.

“I am glad that this synergy has immensely assisted our people to find religious fulfillment.”
