Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning/Collation Officer for the Oyo state governorship election, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe Temitope on Sunday announced the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Engr Seyi Makinde, as the winner of the March 9, governorship election in the state.
Professor Temitope while declaring Makinde as winner of the governorship election disclosed that he polled 515,621 votes to defeat Chief Adebayo Adelabu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 357, 982 votes
The result was announced at the Oyo state INEC headquarters in Ibadan
In all, the PDP governorship candidate won in 28 of the 33 local government areas in the state while the ruling APC candidate won in the remaining 5 local governments.
