It’s youths o’clock: Letter to APC youths

The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of our great Party has approved the guidelines and the conduct of congresses across Wards, Local Government Areas (LGAs) and States of the Federation to elect Party Officials.

By rolling out these modalities for the conduct of the congresses, I am sure the Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Committee had the youths in mind when it fixed the prices of the nomination forms for the coming Congresses across board.
It is no doubt a groundbreaking step toward instituting internal democracy and inclusive governance for the benefit of a people who form the core of our party, the youths.
This bold step also speaks well of how important the party considers the youths in its decision making organ.

Beyond this, it demonstrates our party’s resolve to advance progressive governance anchored on a pro-people party structure where every rank-and-file member is held in high esteem.
It is, therefore, key that our young party members make this count by identifying the positions they have expertise in and put themselves through the process.

As Nigeria’s foremost progressive party, the APC is built on a culture of competence, character and sound principles. Over the years, the party has equally shown beyond doubt that it offers young people the most supportive structures to rise through the ladder of leadership.
I therefore like to charge you and other young party members with competence, capacity and character in our great party to obtain nomination forms and campaign for the congresses at all ward, local government, state and even national levels.

As a candidate myself at national level and my experience over the years, I know why it is important we have a blend of intergenerational demography in the structure of our party leadership. As the saying goes, it is only where we have the wise youths and the sage elders that we can have a prosperous land.
The future is now, let’s grab it together!
Thank you
