Jigawa: Abubakar approves N30, 000 minimum wage pay


Jigawa state Governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has finally signed the N30,000.00 new minimum wage agreement starting December 2019.
Signing the new minimum wage agreement at government house Dutse, the governor said the state civil servants will start enjoying it from November 25.
The governor said, “We had not failed you in the last four years and we cannot fail you this time around, up to the end of our tenure”.


Also responding, the state chairman Joint Public Negotiation Council, Comrade Hassan Auwalu, commended governor Badaru.
He further urged the state civil servants to double up their efforts and work hard to justify the huge amount they received as monthly salaries.


He said the increase for civil servants from grade level 1-6 who were receiving N18,000.00 minimum wage before is now 23 percent, while those in grade level 7 and above is 12 percent consequential pay.
