Jigawa awards N6.6bn road contract

In his efforts to leave Jigawa state better than he met it, Governor Sule Lamido has approved the awarded of contract for the dualisation of 11-kilometre road from Fanisau to Dutse, the state capital, at N6.6 billion.
Addressing journalists shortly after the council meeting recently, the Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Babandi Ibrahim Gumel, said this is in view of the state government commitment to the service of its people.
He added that the dualisation contract was awarded to Dantata and SWOE Nigeria limited with an agreement completion period of eight months.

The commissioner maintained that the executive council also approved AG Consultancy Company to take care of consultation of the project.
According to him, the state government decided to dualise the road which is the only one remains single that led into the state capital.

According to him, the council has also approved the award of contract for the furnishing of both administrative and academic blocks at the Jigawa State University, Kafin Hausa.
“This contract was awarded to Interior Wood Works Nigeria Ltd at the total cost of over N105.9 million expected to be completed before the matriculation of pioneer students in University,” he added.
