Jigawa state Assembly has received a message from Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar seeking for the confirmation of the appointment of Isah Jibrin Gantsa as the new Grand Khadi of the state Shari’a Court of Appeal.
The governor said the nomination was in line with the section 276 sub-section (1) of the 1999 constitution.
The Speaker of the House, Alhaji Idris Garba Jahun read the message during plenary session Tuesday.
In a related development, the state Assembly has constituted a five member committee to oversee the amendment of Jigawa state due process monitoring bureau.
The amendment will seek to ensure the formation of governing board for the agency.
Member representing Yankwashi constituency, Alhaji Abdurrahman Alkasim Karkarna is the chairman of the committee while Ka’is Abdallah, Sale Baba Buji, Sani Isyaku Abubakar and Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin will serve as members.
