Jigawa govt to distribute N24.3m to women as loans

Jigawa state government is to disburse N24.3 million as loans to women in the state to make them self-reliant.

Abdulwahab, disclosed this in Kazaure yesterday during a tour of women development centres of the state.

Hadiza said 810 women would benefit from the loans and that each woman would get N30, 000.
She said three physically challenged women from each local government would also benefit from the loans.

The commissioner added that the loans would be disbursed in March, this year, and would be re-paid in 10 months, adding that a committee had been set up in each of the local government areas to monitor the disbursement of the loans.

Speaking, the chairman of Kazaure local government council, Alhaji Saleh Yahaya, who was represented by his secretary, assured the commissioner that vulnerable groups in the society would benefit from the loans.
