Jigawa govt to support National Identification Commission

Jigawa State Government has pledged to provide all necessary support and cooperation to the National Identification Management Commission (NIMC), so as to ensure that all citizens in the state register and
obtain the National Identification Card.

The assurance was given by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Lawan Abdu mni, during a joint meeting between officials of the  state office of the National Identification Management Commission and local government council chairmen in Dutse at the weekend.
This was contained in a press release signed by the press secretary to the SSG, Comrade Mati Ali, and made available to newsmen.

He said the essence of the meeting was to receive progress report on the implementation of the resolutions reached at the previous meeting especially with regards to providing the commission with office accommodation at the local governments level.
Commenting, the state coordinator of the commission, Hajiya Bilkisu Dalhatu, said the exercise had started at the state capital since November 2013 and was being extended to the local government areas for the benefit of the state citizenry.
