Jigawa: No new COVID-19 case in 15 days – Badaru

Jigawa state, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has directed Shawarin weekly market to be closed down indefinitely for flaunting and refusing to observe social distancing order.

The Governor also declared that the impressive development has been made, therefore the state government asked officers from grade level 12 upward to resume work from next Monday July 6th, 2020 according NCDC’s directive.

The Governor who stated this yesterday while addressing reporters over the development declared that the state has not recorded any additional case of ‎covid-19 for the past 15 days.

Governor said the development has made the state task force on covid-19 to direct all the 19 general hospitals in the state to be receiving and testing patients for the pandemic.

He noted that despite the improvement in the number of recorded cases, he warned against those flagrantly flouting the NCDC advice on face-masks, social distancing and washing of hands respectively.

He explained that after the testing, samples would be transferred to the newly established molecular laboratory for the results.

He therefore thanked the Dangote Group for donating two ambulances to the state while declaring that commissioners in the state have pledged 10% of their salaries to the fight of the pandemic in the state
