Jigawa NSCDC nabs 6 livestock thieves, recovers N228, 000

Jigawa state Command of the Nigeria Civil Defense and Security Corps [ NSCDC]  says it has arrested six livestock thieves  at Rumbun Wayawa village of Birnin Kudu local government areas of the state.
The Commandant  who said  this in a  press statement  ,revealed that those apprehended include; Abdul Hamza  and five others  who specialized in  stealing  livestock which consist of goats, sheep, and  cattle in the area.

He noted the gang of the thieves were trapped and arrested with a stolen goat belonging to one Malam Knkau Wuroji.

The commandant said the culprits admitted to being the notorious gang that terrorised the people of Birnin Kudu local government area, adding that they “cannot remember the number of cows, sheep, and goats they had stolen.”

He said they were surviving on theft for some years, adding that the ring leader was at large.
He assured that he “will soon be arrested and ordered that those on their custody should be arraigned in court.
In a related development, the Corps said it had recovered the sum of N228, 000 belonging to one Hajiya Ladi Sandi Roni deposited to Alhaji Shu’aibu Kawari, Baure local government of Katsina state, for
Hajj fares who eventually died before the journey was accomplished.
Fari said the owner of the money had filed a case to his command, pointing out that his heirs were invited and they admitted knowledge about it.

He said they promised to settle the money either by cash or assets whichever she wants.
The commandant advised people to get witnesses and written documents when embarking on any business transaction, saying that “it will ease judgement in case of court battle.”
