Jigawa state government has paid the sum of N1.7 billion to 707 retirees of the state civil service for the month of February, 2023.
Addressing reporters at the state Pension House on Wednesday, the executive secretary of the board, Alhaji Kamilu Musa, said the beneficiaries include all categories.
“It includes the retirement, death, death pension balance, refund of 8 percent contributory, refund of under payment and 40 percent pension increase,” Musa said.
The executive secretary stated that the beneficiaries under the state are 302 and they were paid the sum of N816,053,702.90 million respectively.
“117 beneficiaries under the LGC have been paid the sum of N200,478,804.58 million. And those under the LGEA were 288 in number and N748, 104,802.00 million was paid to them among others,” he stated.
The executive secretary said the payment of the retirement benefits also included those that were not paid at the end of 2022.
