Jigawa pilgrims paying least fare in Nigeria

The Executive secretary of Jigawa state Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Sani Alhassan Muhammad said pilgrims from the state are paying N1,4 million which is the lowest 2019 Hajj fare in the country.

Muhammad disclosed this in his office while speaking to Blueprint correspondent recently in Dutse.

He said fare was about the least in the whole country “one million four hundred and sixty four thousand naira only. The gesture was part of Governor Badaru Abubakar’s commitment to enhance the welfare of the state intending pilgrims.”

He further explained that the board will refund the balance of N49,475.00 to intending pilgrims that already paid their one million five hundred and thirteen thousand naira hajj fare before being airlifted to the Holy land.

He said the board has completed all necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of this year’s hajj exercise, adding that the board would soon conduct medical screening, vaccination and capturing of thumb prints of the pilgrims.

“The screening was part of requirements introduced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON for the spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia”.

He therefore advised intending pilgrims to be on alert and ensure they participate in the screening and registration exercise.

“The exercise would also enable the board have a comprehensive medical record and health status of all the intending pilgrims of the state”, he concluded.
