Jigawa police command rewards dead officers

Determined to boost the morale of its officers and men, the Jigawa state police command has rewarded 13 of its officers for their outstanding performance while on duty posts.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Bala Zama Senchi, who gave the rewards on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim Kpotun, said the appreciation to the officers who died in active service was to encourage diligence and professionalism.
The commissioner disclosed this yesterday at the command headquarters while presenting the rewards to the next of kin of those that died in active service and the wounded.
“It is good you witness this presentation of cheques to some beneficiaries in Jigawa state, to serve as evidence that the police authority is doing something on personnel welfare,” he said.
About seven officers’ next of kin who died of accident or gunshot collected the cheques. Also one person, Ibrahim D Wudil, who survived accident was given medical assistance while five men of the command received commendation letters for excellent performance.
