Jigawa spends N1, 301bn on 35 new maternity facilities

Jigawa state government has approved the contract of 35 maternity wings in various Basic Health Care Centres across the state worth N601 Million.

This was stated Wednesday by the commissioner of Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Muhammed Alhassan, while briefing journalists shortly after the executive council meeting held at Government House, Dutse.

The commissioner said that the present administration has ensured easy access to hospital for pregnant women, especially in rural communities.‎

He further stated that the state executive council has also approved the contract for the upgrading and conversion of motorised water scheme to solar powered scheme as well as the construction of new ones at the cost of 700 million naira.

He said the construction of Ringim and Jahun local government areas among others. The total sum of the contract is N700 million.‎solar powered water in the state will help boost the water supply in the state.
