Jigawa to boost SMEs for wealth creation, economic development

In a bid to fast track the diversification of the state’s economy, Jigawa state Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar said plan have been concluded to boost the Small, Medium Enterprise (SMEs).

The governor stated this during a courtesy call by the management of Jaiz Bank Plc led by its Managing Director, Hassan Usman at the Government House, Dutse.

A release issued by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Badaru, Ahmad Muhammad Danyaro, said disclosure is coming after the hosting of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) clinic in the state under the supervision of the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo last week.

“This is timely when the state government is making frantic efforts to increase economic activities by creating enabling environment for SMEs to thrive”, he explained.

Badaru, who described the SMEs as the engine for economic growth, expressed government’s readiness to explore the immense economic opportunities in the sector for the prosperity of the state in line with the diversification agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He urged Jaiz Bank to provide affordable financing package to Jigawa people to support his administration’s strategic vision and mission to empower the SME sector for productivity and wealth creation.

Earlier, the Managing Director of Jaiz Bank,Alhaji Hassan Usman, said they were in government house to notify the state government of the opening of a new branch in Dutse to provide first class non-interest banking service to people of the state.
