Jigawa to commence national nutrition policy

Jigawa state government will soon implement the national nutrition policy which has already been domesticated with immediate effect.
Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Budget and Economic Planning,
Alhaji Muhammed Adamu Garungabas, stated this while receiving the executive members of Jigawa state Coalition of Civil Societies on Nutrition (JICON) in his office.
The permanent secretary explained that the state’s technical committee on nutrition was working round the clock in the effort to commence the implementation of the policy.
He stressed that the committee had already asked all the ministries to work on their potions to domesticate, harmonise and present to the state executive council for immediate adoption and implementation.
Earlier, the chairman Jigawa state Coalition of Civil Societies on Nutrition (JICON), Comrade Shuaibu Musa Kafingana, told the PS that they were in his office to expresse appreciation for the release of funds contained in the budget on nutrition programme.
Musa explained that the recent release of N150 million was commendable and would improve the condition of malnourished children in the state.
