Jigawa to drill 486 hand pumps across 24 state constituencies – Official

he Jigawa state Ministry for Water Resources has opened bid for the drilling of 486 hand pumps in 24 state constituencies under the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA).

The bid also include conversion of 22 motorised water schemes to solar powered and completion 61 water collection points across the constituencies.

A total of 126 companies applied for the bidding which is under the constituency projects for the last year.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba Hannun Giwa, represented by the managing director of the agency, Labaran Adamu warned the successful contractors against sub-standard job as such act would not be tolerated by the government.

The commissioner urged them to fully abide by the due process guidelines in the execution of the projects for better result.

Also speaking, the representative of due process bureau, Malam Idris Aujara, said no project would be accepted and paid for without full compliance with the bureau protocols.
