Jonathan appoints Wanapia as new secretary to Revenue Commission

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Mr. Iliya Wanapia as the new secretary for the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The appointment which takes effect from 20th January 2014 was conveyed to him via a letter signed by Senator Anyim Pius Ayim, Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Born on April 23rd 1960, in Akuwo village, Kurmi local government Area of Taraba state, Mr. Wanapia, holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Bachelor of Science, Business Administration from the University of Maiduguri, Borno state.
The newly appointed secretary who has already assumed duty at the commission was at various times Taraba state auditor general, accountant general and commissioner of finance respectively.

Speaking at a brief handing over ceremony, the outgoing acting secretary to the commission, Usman Garndawa urged the staff of the commission to accord Wanapia the same support they gave him to enable him succeed.
In his response, the new Secretary, Mr. Wanapia promised to dedicate himself to the service of the commission and sought the support of all and sundry to enable him accomplish the organizational goals and objectives of the commission.
