President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday commiserated with Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, the people of Niger state and the Agaie Emirate on the death of the Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jonathan said the emir died at a relatively young age when he still had so much to offer his community through wise and selfless leadership.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the family of the deceased, the government and people of Niger state the strength to bear the pain of losing the emir.

In a related development, President Jonathan has expressed sadness over the passing away of one of the country’s most distinguished legal luminaries, Chief Godwin Olusegun Kolawole (GOK) Ajayi, at the weekend in Lagos.
The president condoled with Ajayi’s family, friends, colleagues and associates in the legal profession.
“As they mourn the eminent Senior Advocate of Nigeria, President Jonathan urges them to be consoled by the knowledge that Chief Ajayi lived a much fulfilled life, and will even in death, continue to serve as an enduring model of dedication to truth, equity and justice for all.”
