President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday directed the immediate removal of campaign materials and banners known as #Bring Back Jonathan 2015 that have been placed in strategic places in Abuja.
In a statement today by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the president said the campaign materials were offensive and repugnant.

Jonathan said the campaign signs are highly insensitive parody of the #BringBackOurGirls hash tag that was being circulated without his knowledge or approval.

“The President condemns the #Bring Back Jonathan 2015 signs which appear to make light of the very serious national and global concern for the abducted Chibok girls,” he said.
The president assured Nigerians and the international community that the present administration remains fully engaged with efforts to rescue the abducted girls and that he would not knowingly promote any actions that would fly in the face of the seriousness of their plight and the anguish of their families.
