Jonathan to emir: Don’t allow Boko Haram into your domain

President Goodluck Jonathan has applauded the prevailing peace and security in Ilorin Emirate and urged the emir not to relent in his efforts to ensure the sustenance of peace “so that Boko Haram insurgence, kidnapping and other anti- social behaviour will not find their way into the state.”

He also praised the foresight of the emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for the peaceful co-existence existing amongst the people in the state.

Jonathan said this yesterday when he paid a courtesy call on the emir at his Palace in IIorin.
The president, who was accompanied by his deputy, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, said some  inisters and governors expressed happiness over the “harmony and unity that Kwara is known for.”

He thanked the royal father for working with other government agencies towards ensuring the sustenance of peace in the state.
Jonathan told the emir that he was in Kwara to ginger up members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for the forthcoming general elections.
The emir had earlier told the president that “peace, unity and love will continue to reign supreme in the state.”

The monarch who described Kwara as gateway to North and South of Nigeria assured the President that no effort will be left unturned towards ensuring peace in the state.
Sulu-Gambari, who described Jonathan’s victory in the last presidential elections as “an act of God” prayed God to enable him to achieve his next ambition peacefully.

The Chief Imam of IIorin, Alhaji Mohammed Bashir, offered special prayers for peace, unity, love and understanding to continue to reign in Kwara, in particular and country, as a whole.
Some first class traditional rulers in the state were at the palace to receive the president.
