‘Jonathan’s critics have lost their soul’

National Assistant Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Alliance, Riches John Otukpe, has said that those criticising President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration “have lost their soul and have nothing to offer Nigerians.”
Riches described as “unfortunate” what she called the “opposition’s penchant for not seeing anything good in Jonathan’s administration and its policies.”

Speaking to journalists yesterday in Abuja, he challenged politicians and previous administrations to point out to Nigerians what they had done better than Jonathan’s government in the past two years.
According to her, politics is about responsible debates, constructive criticisms and development of the people; and not a ploy to continue to dominate the polity.

She, therefore, appealed to Nigerians to give the administration the needed support to consolidate on the gains “so far achieved in the areas of road infrastructure, aviation, education and power sector reforms, sports development, job creation and women empowerment.”
Riches expressed confidence in the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan and the leadership of the PDP under Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu to “transform and reposition Nigeria for greater achievements.”

She said: “Those criticising President Jonathan are fighting God, because it is God who put him there to start a change in Nigeria. Jonathan was brought to light up Nigeria. Nigerians irrespective of their religion should continue to pray for the President for the wisdom to rule this country aright. We should give the PDP Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, the chance to reconcile the PDP and I think God is going to reconcile all aggrieved members for the benefit of this country for us to go forward.”
