In the ongoing Jos International Polo Tournament, holding at the late Gen. Hassan Usman Katsina Polo gruond, Kaduna Trappco have defeated Haske and Williams Polo team in a keenly contested encounter.
At the commencement of the four chukka game, contesting the Imani cup, a half goal was awarded to: Trappco’s Aliyu Tijjani (+1), Bashir Aliyu (+1), Kabiru Much’d (+2), and Murtala Aliyu’s(+3), handicapped, against, Haske and Williams, Abdurahman Haske (0), Aliyu Dahiru (+2), Bello Buna (+4), and Ashraf Yahaya’s (+3), handicapped.
The outstanding performances of prolific international, Bello Buba, Ashraf Yahaya and Murtala Aliyu trilled spectators at the match which ended with Trappco wining six and half goals against H&W’s 6 goals.
Two matches were played in the NASCO Cup, with Katsina polo defeating, Kaduna grade 6 – 4, Jos Babale farms beat Jos Za saled, 11 – 3 and half goals.
Similarly, six matches were played in the President cup. While Red crown defeated Sati’s Stable, 16 – 4, Kano Giloso beat Yola Afoin, 4 – 3.
Other results had Maiduguri A&F lose to Maiduguri Yellow page, 1 and half to 10 goals, Bauchi Max green draws tie with Bauchi Shafridah, 5-5, Jalingo Dansoja farms lost 3-5 to Gombe Jowel, while new comers Malco Energy defeated Sati’s Stable, 10 and half goals to 3.
Other matches are slated in the Governor’s Cup with high expectations from depending champions Malcomines, Keffi ponies and others fielding Nigeria’s national/international and foreign professional Argentine players.
