Journalism: Neptune Prime launches office in Yobe

Neptune Prime, an online media, has launched a new brand office in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.

The chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Yobe state chapter, Comrade Rajab Mohammed, Tuesday, commissioned the new branch office in Damaturu.

While congratulating the publisher, editor-in-chief and staff for opening the new branch in Yobe, Rajab donated 5 protocol chairs for the branch and pledged support for maintenance of the office.

He stated that the NUJ expected all correspondents chapel in the state to have offices rather than gather at the Government House  Press Centre.

“Each media house should have a place they can call their office so that any time anybody wants to see a reporter, he will go straight to the office,” he said.

He said on several occasions, many people in the state want  journalists to cover an event, but they don’t know where to contact journalists except if they come to the press centre.

He said, “If you open office for yourself, you will earn respect from people and they will depend on you to get their information.”
