JTF commends journalists in Kano for support, cooperation

The Joint Security Task force (JTF) in Kano state has commended journalists for their support and cooperation especially during the peak of the activities of insurgents in the state.

Its spokesman, Capt Ikedichi Iweha, made the commendation during a farewell address to newsmen in Kano.
Iweha has been transferred to Jos as the spokesman of the Security Task force (STF) in Plateau state.
He said journalists in the state deserved to be commended for the support and cooperation they gave the task force, particularly during its trying moments.

He said: “It was your support, cooperation and the professionalism in carrying out your duties that made us to succeed. When I came to Kano in 2010, nobody knew Iweha, but today Iweha has become a household name in Kano.”
He appealed to journalists to cooperate with his successor in order to cement the existing cordial working relationship between them and the task force.

In his remarks, the chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano state chapter, Mr Edwin Olofu, thanked Iweha for the cooperation and cordial working relation with journalists in the state.
He said: “We must express our appreciation for your cooperation without which we would not have done our work effectively. We hope you will continue in the same direction wherever you may find yourself.”
