June 12 : Makinde joins youths, Yoruba nation agitators for Democracy Day rally in Ibadan

Governor Seyi Makinde on Saturday identified with the June 12 protesters in Ibadan as he briefly joined the protesters at the Osuntokun Junction along UI-Secretariat road in Ibadan

The protesters comprising of Youths and Yoruba Nation agitators were seen busy chanting Buhari must go as well as condemning some of Federal government policies especially on the spate of insecurity in the country

However, armed security agencies were sighted in and across all the strategic junctions in Ibadan and other major towns in the state

The governor on meeting the protesters on the way to the University of Ibadan end of the Sango – Ojoo road on sighting the protesters immediately stopped his vehicle with the few security aides with him and joined the protesters.

Sighting the governor heading towards their midst, the elated protesters started hailing and singing his praise for deeming it fit to join them in demonstration of his solidarity with them.

Addressing the protesters, Governor Seyi Makinde urged them to be peaceful and law abiding so as not to allow hoodlums hijack the protest from them .

The governor after staying with the protesters comprising mainly of youths later drove off with the protesters matching forward continued and stopped at the entrance of the Oyo State Secretariat Agodi and addressed the crowd.

Later in the morning, other protesters mainly Yoruba nation agitators gathered at the Iwo road terminus on the new Ife -Ibadan road demanding self determination for the Yoruba nation
