The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Muhammad Sani Dattijo,  held an empowerment programme to support 1,000 women across seven local government areas of Kaduna state.

The empowerment under the Dattijo Empowerment and Development Initiative (DEDI), a non governmental organisation founded by the senatorial candidate, to drive inclusive development, saw beneficiaries drawn from Giwa, Birnin Gwari, Igabi, Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chikun and Kajuru local governments that comprised the Kaduna Central Zone.

The items distributed by the senatorial candidate include cash, grinding machines and climate change friendly stoves, in order to improve incomes and eradicate poverty among the women beneficiaries.

The first phase of the distribution scheme was flagged off by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna state, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, who urged the benefitting women to come out en masse to support the party in the next general elections.

Dattijo then, expressed his readiness to support women across the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, if elected to represent them at the National Assembly in the February 25, 2023 general elections.

The dignitaries who attended the historic event include members of the National Assembly, cabinet members in the state, council chairmen, APC candidates, APC chieftains and members, APC stakeholders and supporters among others.
