Kaduna FRSC command rewards officers on dedication

Kaduna Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has rewarded six outstanding officers for their diligence and dedication to duty in the efforts to reduce road crashes in the state.
The Sector Commander, Umar Ibrahim, who disclosed during the command’s anniversary durbar, organised to wind up the week long activities marking the Corps’ 30th anniversary, said the gesture was to promote hard work and professionalism.
The awardees were Deputy Road Commander Waheed Salihu, who emerged best patrol man; followed by Road Commander Aliyu Audu and Road Commander, Sain Gwom Ambisa, who emerged second and third best respectively.
Others are Route Marshal Assistant, Isah Kabir, Assistant Chief Inspector, Halilu Abubakar and Assistant Chief Inspector, Lawal Ahmed.
The awardees were given letters of commendation and gifts as part of the corps’ recognition and motivation for hard work.
Ibrahim urged the beneficiaries to continue the good work in their service to humanity tailored towards saving lives from avoidable deaths to avoidable accidents.
“The FRSC was established on February 18, 1988 to address the disturbing
indices of road accidents in the country which placed Nigeria second to Ethiopia as the most dangerous place to drive in the world.
“So far, the corps has recorded a milestone achievement by reducing road accidents from 25,792 in 1988 to barely 9,694 in 2016, representing 62 per cent decrease in road accidents,” Ibrahim said.
