Kaduna govt seeks mutual benefits with medical workers

Kaduna state government yesterday called on leadership of Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) to collaborate with the state government in its efforts to improve health service delivery to its citizenry in accordance with federal government transformation agenda.

Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, who disclosed this during the official commissioning of MDCN zonal edifice in Kaduna, added that due to the pivotal role of health sector in the nation building, there was the need for effective collaboration with government at all levels to unanimously build a healthy nation.
Yero, who was represented by his deputy, Ambassador Audu Bajoga, said the state government was ready to improve working condition and general welfare of health workers.

He said: “This occasion is in line with our determination to ensure the upliftment of medical sector by sponsoring it in terms of updating knowledge, improve the capacity of workers as well as improving working environment in order to furtherance effective service delivery.”
In an address, the council’s Registrar, Dr. Abdulmumini Ibrahim, said the zonal headquarters office was put in place to improve the welfare of registered medical profession and to accommodate complaints from Nigerians as regarding medical services rendition in the zone.
