Kaduna LG chair rejects handover note

The newly elected council chairman, Zaria local government area of Kaduna state, Aliyu Idris Ibrahim has rejected the hand over note left by the past administrator in the area saying that it is full of ambiguities.
He disclosed this in a press conference on statutory allocation received by the council for the month of July through his vice, Imam Aliyu Ibrahim Al-Tukry in Zaria.
The chairman said that in the hand over note, it was clearly stated that the council has 3 different bank accounts but after thorough investigation it was discovered that two of them bears the same account number.
“This prompted the council to set up a 44-member committee to peruse through the note and report findings before it can be appropriately signed.
“The committee was high powered because it includes university Dons, technocrats, bureaucrats and representatives of workers unions.” Engineer Ibrahim said the committee has since submitted its report this week.
“In fact, the findings of the committee indicated several atrocities that required proper explanations by the part administrator “And I still maintain my ground that unless convincing explanations were made, then I will be left with no other option than to report the issue to authorities concern for necessary action.” On statutory allocation received by the council for the month of July, the chairman announced that it has collected over N193m but after deductions and other expenditures it is left with slightly above N20.5.
