Kaduna LG elections: Group backs Zimbo


A youth group, the Zangon Kataf Youths for Good Governance (ZKYGG), Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna state, has thrown their weight behind the aspiration of Mr. Francis A. Sani Zimbo, as the chairman of the local government in the forthcoming local government election in Kaduna state.


The group, which membership cuts across all the ethnic groups in the local government area, said they have observed with keen interest the activities and interactions of Mr Zimbo as a man gifted with wisdom to lead the council to greater heights.


A statement by Mr James Adamu, spokesman of the group, said, “As members of the group, we have watched with kind interest devoid of any personal interest of religion, tribe or party affiliation, who can at this crucial time bring about sanity, love, peace and togetherness of all ethnic groups to ensure absolute peace and unity in the local government area. 
“We have with all sincerity and honesty discovered that Mr. Francie A. Sani Zimbo has the qualities needed to bring together especially the youths to work together as an entity towards the progress and development of the council that has the human and natural resources to be a pace setter for other local government areas in the state.


“We, therefore, with all honesty, decided to back Mr Francis A. Sani Zimbo in his quest of becoming the chairman of the local government in the forthcoming local election in the state with the total conviction that having somebody at the helm of affairs like him, the area will witness tremendous transformation of development in all spheres of life, hence, our resolution to support his aspiration without looking back.


“We have also observed with all honesty that having served the council two terms as a councillor and a special adviser to a council chairman, Mr Francis A. Sani Zimbo knows the activities and the problems of the local government very well and has the requisite experience to ensure total transformation of the local government to a standard that we all dream of.”


The group said looking at the above qualifications of Mr Francis A. Sani Zimbo, there is the need for all in the local government to support the aspirations of the intended chairman, believing that his election as the council’s chairman would usher in peace and unity which anybody that wishes the council well desires.
In the same vein, women group, Women of Peace, commended Mr Zimbo, whom they describe as a force that is fighting for the common good of all irrespective of religious, tribal or political leanings, stressing that the local government needs somebody of his capacity to ensure peace and unity that would unite the people overall development of the area.
The women, in a letter of solidarity and in support through Mrs Naomi Musa, leader of the forum to Mr Zimbo’s aspiration, explained that they are in total support of ensuring his ambition is realised in moving the local government forward in all spheres of life.
The women assured of their commitment and support to ensure that Mr Zimbo becomes the chairman of Zangon Kataf local government.
