Kaduna Police arrest bandit, recover 5 operation motorcycles

The Kaduna state Police Command on Friday disclosed that it had arrested a bandit and recovered five operation motorcycles following a shoot-out with the bandits on Galadimawa Tumburku Road in Giwa local government area.

The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muhammed Jalige, in a statement issued Friday, said the police working on an intelligence that some bandits were about to attack a community “immediately went into action and were able to thwart the attack after a gunfight which left some of the bandits injured, while Tasiu Malam was arrested and five motorcycles used by the bandits fir operation were also recovered.”

“On November 17, 2022, at about 1000hrs, acting on information received that some armed bandits on motorcycles were sighted along Galadimawa Tumburku Road in Giwa LGA of Kaduna state, the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna state Command, CP Yekini A. Ayoku, immediately ordered the deployment of a combined Police detachment of Operation Whirl Punch along with special Divisional team to clear the highway of the miscreants.

“In the ensuing engagement, the bandits caved in to the superior fire power and professional tactical maneuver of the operatives as they scampered with varying degrees of bullet wounds,” the statement read in part.
