Kaduna: Rejected commissioner nominee gets another appointment

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state has reappointed Dr Aliyu Jafaru, who was rejected as commissioner by the Kaduna State House of Assembly, as deputy director general Kaduna State Geographical Information Service (KADGIS).
The reappointment of Jafaru, who was rejected by the KDHA based on reported criticism of el-Rufai’s programmes and policies on the social media, was announced on Monday alongside a slew of other appointments of heads of government agencies and deployment of permanent secretaries. 


According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser, Media and Communication to Governor el-Rufai, Mr Muyiwa Adekeye, “Malam Nasir el-Rufai has approved the appointments of seven new permanent secretaries and senior officials for five agencies. 
“The Governor reappointed Umma Aboki as Executive Secretary of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA), Engr. Aliyu Salihu, Acting Director-General, Kaduna State Public Procurement Authority (KADPPA), subject to confirmation by the Kaduna State House of Assembly.”


Also appointed are, “Engr. Ahmed Munir, Director-General, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Abdullahi Sani, Chairman, SUBEB, Mubarak Mohammed, Permanent Member, Project Management, SUBEB, Dr. Christy Alademerin, Permanent Member, Human Resource Management, SUBEB.”
The Governor appointed seven new permanent Secretaries: “Amina Adamu-SUBEB, Phoebe Sukai Yayi-Education, Bashir Umar Lere-Public Works and Infrastructure, Sabiu Sani-Agriculture, Dr. Haliru Musa Soba-Business, Innovation and Technology, Amina Abdullahi-Establishment and Muhammad Bashir Umar-Civil Service Commission. 


“Following the new appointments, Permanent Secretaries in Kaduna state are now deployed as follows: Nuhu Isiyaku Buzun-Cabinet Affairs, Adamu Mohammed Mansur-Human Services & Social Development, Stephen Joseph-Environment, Habiba A. Shekarau-Housing & Urban Development, Mahmoud Yamusa-Planning and Budget.


“Aisha K. Mohammed-General Services, Musa Adamu-Local Government, Ibrahim S. Jere-Public Service Office, Mohammed Mahmud Shuaibu-Health, Murtala Dabo-Finance, Chris Umar-Justice, Umar K. Ibrahim-Sports Development and Umma K. Ahmed DG, Quality Assurance Authority.”
