Kano 2019: Ganduje’s wife urges women to vote husband

Wife of the Kano state governor, Dr. Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has called on women to massively vote for her husband for a second term in office.

She stated this at the disbursement of empowerment funds for 1,500 women in Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu local government areas of the state.

This was at the instance of the member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Alhaji Baffa Abdullahi Mahamud Gaya.

Hafsat said her husband had executed high-profile project which could be used as an evidence for him to be given a second mandate.

According to her, no promising democratic dispensation could be feasible without bringing the much-talked about dividends of democracy to the door steps of women.

She said the issue of empowerment had been one of the major cardinal thrusts of Governor Ganduje, considering the fact that empowering women will ultimately reduce their dependence on their spouses to earn a living.

“I am here today for the historic disbursement of funds to 1,500 women as part of the current drive to make them self-reliant. You are expected to use this money for the purpose for which it was given. Empowering you to become self-reliant would make everyone of you to have a sense of belonging,” she said.

Speaking earlier, Gaya said empowering the people of his constituency had been a responsibility he must not shirk under whatever guise and that the issue of self-reliance was a “veritable key to the entire survival of any society.”

He called on the beneficiaries to judiciously use the money as a way of reciprocating the gesture.
