Kano: Abacha’s son, Mohammed drags PDP to court over gov’shp ticket

The eldest son of the late Head of State, Mohammed Sani Abacha is unhappy over the controversial decision by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to deny him the opportunity to contest the Kano governorship 2023 poll.

According to PlatinumPost, Abacba son who emerged winner of the Kano PDP governorship primary was shocked to discover that his name was substituted with Sadiq Wali when the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), displayed the list of nationwide candidates for various elective positions for the 2023 poll.

Mr Abacha in an exclusive chat with PlatinumPost says he will take the matter to the Court to seek redress, aimed at reclaiming the ticket to actualise his aspiration to govern Kano.

” What happened today was a complete electoral fraud, you can’t build something on nothing, I don’t expect this to happen with the electoral amendment Act in place. The era of impunity and lawlessness is over in Nigeria. I believe in the supremacy of the law and I have strong confidence that the truth will justice.”

PlatinumPost had reported that that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Friday, displayed the name of Wali as the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kano State.

Abacha, according to PlatinumPost, was denied the governorship seat of the Congress for Progressive Congress (CPC), in 2011 after he clearly won the primary, Lawan Jafaru was declared winner isntead.
